2nd Annual HS Technology Day

March 29, 2012.  Clayton Ridge HS students in grades 9-11 participated in the 2nd Annual Technology Inservice Day.  The goal of the day was introduce new technology, engage students and teachers in new learning, and to help provide ideas to use technology to enhance every day instruction.  




HS Students and their advisory teachers rotated through seven different sessions.
7 topics of the sessions included:
Twitter - understanding Twitter and etiquette of using social media.
Care and Maintenance of Laptops - basic reminders of how to care and maintain the school issued laptop.
Cyber-Safety Scenarios - moral development - how to respond to potential cyber situations: cyberbullying, sexting, spying, digital disrespect, cruelty, constant messaging, etc...
Website Evaluations - evaluating content on the web using - authority, bias, coverage, and currency
Diigo - bookmarklet tool to highlight, bookmark notes, make sticky reminders of content
Socrative - formative assessment webtool
Podcasting - using Garageband - create digital content in the form of a podcast.






Presentations were facilitated by 14 Clayton Ridge HS Staff and Keystone AEA professional consultants.
They day was a great success.  After a survey was given to students and staff alike: 95% of participants surveyed said they enjoyed the day and gained practical and new knowledge.   One of their favorite sessions was Socrative and Cyber-Safety discussion.
