Four 8th grade girls gave Keystone AEA's Sphero a test run with me the other day. Sphero is the first robotic ball gaming device that you control with a tilt, touch or swing from your smartphone or tablet.

There are 24 different apps available for download to an iOS device (iPod, iPad) or Android device. These apps allow an individual to create a virtual game experience using Sphero as the platform. Game experiences like: golf, driving, pet care, obstacle courses and many more.
Sphero pairs via bluetooth from the hand held devices for remote activated control and manipulation of the ball. The girls had a blast learning and experimenting with Sphero. Their favorite apps were Sphero Pet and Drive and Draw. They even gave Golf a try. It was an fantastic opportunity for our students to gain an understanding of different forms of technology in development and available in our world today.
