Skype in the classroom.....
Ms. Geuder's 4th graders took an opportunity to meet new friends, while learning about the different regions across the U.S.A. Geuder's 4th graders Skyped with Mr. Jay Sugarman's class in Massachusetts. The name of their school is John D. Runkle School. Their school is located near Boston.
Part of the conversation was each of the 4th grade students had to participate in a discussion about "Where in the U.S.A?" are their Skype pals. Every student shared a fact about their whereabouts and each of the students had to put the facts together to determine where their counterparts are located in the United States.
At the time of the Skype conversation, Ms. Geuder's 4th graders were studying the NE Region and Mr. Sugarmann's 4th graders were studying the Midwest. All the students participating thought that was pretty cool. Most likely the two classrooms will connect again.
