Our School Improvement Advisory Committee is comprised of administrators, teachers, community members and HS students from Clayton Ridge. Our student members of the committee have taken on the role of being leaders in the transformation of our 1:1 digital learning environment. These student members have gone above and beyond and have traveled to another 1:1 school and spent a day in another digital learning environment, they have hosted guests in our building and have answered numerous questions. This student committee have demanded more out of their education and want to work to creating a successful digital learning environment at CRCSD.
Today we met with students to plan for a student/teacher development day to learn new technology. Mr. Einck created a Google Doc of the meeting agenda and together we discussed various topics. Our goal is to level the playing field between teachers and students. This, in turn, will allow for a student-centered learning environment. To model this type of environment, as a district tech team we would like to expose students and teachers to new technology together through professional development experience during a school day for students and teachers. Also, SIAC students were given a survey to respond to through Google Forms. They are the only ones exposed to this survey and its results at this point. Our vision is to allow students an opportunity to develop their own question set to get feedback on how the 1:1 learning environment is going from a student's perspective.
