Mrs. Stannard has always brought new ideas to the table in regards to using technology to enhance classroom instruction. She is a 3rd grade teacher and has always been an advocate for new technologies and their practical purposes in a classroom setting. One tool she has brought to the elementary is Smilebox. Smilebox is a web tool that provides "one of a kind" showcasing of photos, and Mrs. Stannard has used this tool to document some of the day to day activities her students have been involved with throughout the school day. It is a wonderful keepsake for her students, and a great tool for students to use to initiate discussions of what is happening at school in the home. I have seen Mrs. Stannard use Smilebox to showcase classroom activites at parent teacher conferences and she also embeds any Smilebox projects she has created into her class web page. Students are very proud to show family and friends what is happening and Clayton Ridge Elementary in the 3rd grade.
Smilebox has really caught on at the elementary and many teachers are using it throughout the school. It is a neat use of technology to witness.
